Alternative Assignments
Assigning the traditional research paper isn't the only way to get your students to meet your course outcomes. Browse through some alternative assignments and unconventional approaches for a few options that can get you and your students out of the term paper doldrums.
Source Evaluation Rubrics
Here are three great examples of source evaluation rubrics:
- This rubric, designed by Claremont Libraries, measures Attribution of Information, Evaluation of Sources, and Commuinication of Evidence within a paper. Pay particular attention to the first page.
- This rubric was developed by education researchers in conjunction with Turnitin. It should be easy to modify to fit your purposes
- This rubric, designed by school librarian Karen Christensson offers a lot of detail, and might be suitable after some judicious editing.
