You can cultivate skills and explore technology through the Library Media Lab, which houses Mac computer workstations, audio and video recording spaces, and equipment for student checkout, such as audio kits, lighting kits, photo and video cameras, and other media to support creativity and assignments across disciplines. We help build digital literacy skills for class assignments and personal growth through access to high-tech equipment and software.

Use of Media Lab resources requires an active College of DuPage Library card. Some resources are limited to current COD students. For more information, read our full policies. If you identify as a district resident, you can sign up for a COD Library card for free at Circulation with proof of residency.

While all of our space and equipment usage is at no charge for cardholders and/or students, photo printing services do have a fee.

The Media Lab has an Epson Ecotank 8550 Inkjet Printer for high-quality color photo printing. Purchase of prints is deducted from student, faculty/staff, or district resident SmartPrint account. Setting up a SmartPrint account can be done at any time. There is a cash value add station in the Computer and Printing Services area or values can be added from anywhere with credit or debit cards. Customers must ensure adequate funds have been added to their SmartPrint account prior to printing. Purchase of prints is nonrefundable.

The cost per print is: 8.5”x11” for $1 or 13”x19” for $2

The Media Lab uses Photo Paper Luster or Glossy and paper will be provided. Any paper type other than inkjet photo paper cannot be processed with this printer.
