Instruction Calendar and Classroom Scheduling Policy

To log into the Instruction Calendar:

Classroom Scheduling Policy

“The library instruction classrooms are heavily used, with priority given to the librarians, but it is possible to arrange for the use of a classroom on a one-time basis. Requests can be accepted no more than three days in advance. Contact your division librarian to reserve a classroom.”

Essential points:

  • Library instruction sessions have precedence over classes without librarians. Any non-librarian classes that are scheduled out of the 3-day window should be considered tentative.
  • Faculty wanting to reserve Library classrooms without a librarian must be told that such reservations are not guaranteed and could be bumped from the schedule for library instruction use any time up to 3 days before the class.
  • Liaison librarians may reserve classrooms "tentatively"-- ie: make the reservation in Outlook but do not confirm the classroom with the instructor until we are within the required 3 days in advance.
  • Liaison librarians will indicate within the Outlook reservation that this tentative reservation is "bumpable"-- if the classroom is needed for library instruction, the booking librarian will make other arrangements for the class.
